Field Day

So I have to say that Field Day this year was an absolute blast!  Not only was it so much fun with a ton of activities for the kids, but it was one of the most beautiful days we've had all year!!!  I took some pictures and videos of the kids playing at all of the games.  The PTO did such an amazing job with putting this together, not to mention Ms. Decker who just loves to create all of these awesome games!!!  Thanks so much to all of the parents who volunteered and who were able to come out and join us!  It really was a perfect day!!!!

Enjoy the photos and videos!  I know I will!  They were all making laugh during our hoola hoop session!

Questions...

Parents, please contact me if you have any questions about student grades, etc.  I have finished putting everything into RDS and hope that all of you are proud of your students!  They all did such an amazing job and I'm so very proud of them!  I will be posting some photos of our field day and final projects!

End of the Year

Okay, so I have to admit I have been extremely busy with grading, entering grades, and figuring out all of the end of the year stuff that comes along with a "real" teaching job!  As this is my first year teaching, well teaching to the end of the year in an actual classroom, I never knew that it would be so much work!  However, I am extremely excited to get my own classroom.  I'm not sure where I will end up next year, but I am hopeful and optimistic about finding something.  I have come to the conclusion that I might move a lot during the first few years of teaching and I'm okay with that.  Being in kindergarten at the beginning of this year and moving to fourth was really a great experience.  I loved having the opportunity to see the amazing growth of the little ones in the beginning of the year and loved seeing the amazing independence in the older ones at the end of the year!  What a great experience.  I just love teaching and can't wait for the years to come!  I know that there will be a lot more experiences and I can't wait!

Park Maps

I've included some park map links so that you can get an idea of what I'm looking for.  The kids were able to look at these today in class, but here are a few that we didn't get to see!

This is going to be the final grade for the design and motion unit, so I want creativity and knowledge about what we've talked about!

Amusement Park Project

So in Science instead of our final project for the motion and design unit, I've decided to do a roller coaster design!  I've created a plan for an amusement park project and the kids got started on it today.  We watched a movie yesterday about the physics of roller coasters and rides, so the kids should be pretty familiar with how to design the coaster.  I've attached the plan to this post along with several websites that will help with the design and structure of their parks!  This is going to be so much fun for them and I can't wait to see the final products!!!

Literary Genres

We are starting a mini unit and familiarizing ourselves with literary genres.  PLEASE make sure your students know the differences between the genres of literature and we will have a variety of them on the English round of ISTEPS.

I've attached the unit we will be using and some of the activities that go along with it!
