Homework

Because we have had so many students not turn in assignments, I am chaning the Homework policy to have word due on the day that it is assigned.  If the students need to take items home and finish, they can do that, however it must be turned in the day after.  ONLY the assignments I post on the classroom agenda board will be due on Friday.  Students are responsible for ALL work and no more late work will be accepted.  I've attached the homework sign in sheet so that you can keep track of all work during the week.

Spelling Contract

Spelling Contract

I want to give the students options that will help them learn their spelling words.  I've created this spelling contract so students are able to choose which activities they'd like to do to practice their words.

For each column, students will pick one box and complete it using their 25 spelling words.

Spelling words are in their agendas and should correlate with the story we are reading.

We are currently reading Cendrillion in the Houghton Mifflin Series.

Contact me with any questions!  The contract is attached!

Spelling Contracts will be due every Friday!  This one is due on March 16th at the BEGINNING of class!

Newspaper Assignment

Newspaper Assignment Outline

Students will be creating their own newspaper.  Please see the document above for all the details!

Completed Newspapers will be due on March 16th!

Division Problem Solving Strategy Book

Division Problem Solving Strategy Book

Next week we are really going to work on our division practice.  May of the students are not understanding partial quotients or the how to use the strategy to divide.  I've created this strategy book for students to work on over the next month.  We will work on the book in class, but please have your child explain how to complete some of these problems and explain how they are doing it!

Here is a powerpoint I created that outlines the 5-paragraph essay.  Please reference this when going over your child's essay and then writing one back!
